The Holy Healers Deck of cards - Vintage Catholic holy cards

This very original vintage French deck of cards, which dates from the 1980s, associates saints with cards. 

Every illness and condition seems to be covered here – from acne to zona (shingles). Many saints are associated with more than one illness, while several ailments have links with more than one saint. The illnesses are listed in alphabetical order on the 2s and Jokers together with the corresponding saint(s). If you have a headache, pray to St Pancrace (Pancras in English) or, if you have an ulcer, pray to St Roch (also the patron saint of dogs). Sainte Apolline (Apollonia in English) is the patroness of dentistry. Apart from statues, the images for this pack come from paintings, manuscripts and altarpieces.

A wonderful and slightly unusual deck from Dusserre, each of the cards features an image of a statue, painting or other work of art depicting a holy healer.

The Jokers contain lists of illnesses with the saints to whom prayers should be directed, and the lists are arranged alphabetically by illness.

It consists of 52 cards that measure pouces/ inches 3 1/2" x 2 1/2"
They are in very good condition, they slide when mixed.

The box has signs of wear as pictured.
