The Minchiate Florentinas - The Minchiate Tarot 2001 - Highly collectible deck

The Minchiate is one of the most unique decks ever to emerge from the centuries-old Tarot tradition.

The Minchiate Florentinas (Pronounce "mine-kia-té"). Designed in Florence at the end of the 15th century, this tarot deck is little known, and has not been widely used in Europe. This is not a classic 78-blade tarot card. The game indeed has 97 cards.

It is made up of 41 major arcana: 12 signs of the zodiac, 4 elements, 3 theological virtues (faith, hope, charity) and Prudence. The first six arcana, from Bateleur to Lover, are replaced by Popes.

Many mysteries still remain as to the "occult" use of this game. Indeed, the classic tarots were prohibited by the clergy, but not the game of Minchiate, as attested by an edict of 1477. Because games of chance were prohibited, as were the strange divinatory uses of tarots ...
