Tarot Rhenan 1984 - Ancient Tarot de Marseille

The Tarot Rhenan (signifying the "Rhine" region) is a photographic reproduction of a deck created by Ignaz Krebs of Freiburg some time before 1800.

Reproduced in Austria and published by Piatnik in 1984, (with a later re-print in 2006 which was marketed as Tarot de Marseille .)

Traditional French titles are shown on Trumps & Court cards.Like many Marseille decks of this time period, the line art was accomplished through woodblock printing, with generally primary-toned stencil coloring, with a few additional pale colors. There has been no fixing or additions to the original illustrations, so this facsimile contains occasional broken lines, light areas and overlapping color of the original cards.
