Published by AGMüller in 1990. This edition also has its origins in old woodcuts whose coloring has been refined in the spirit of their original form. The sense of color symbolism has been restored.

The Marseille tarot takes its name from the city which, clearly, saw the majority of tarot productions flourish. Thus the name "Tarot de Marseille" is rather a global notion designating the most important branch of the entire tarot tradition than the name of a particular game.

The Marseille tarot deck reputed to be the oldest, dates from the mid-17th century and dates back to the hand-painted images of the famous Milanese Visconti-Sforza tarot from the mid-15th century.

The Tarot de Marseille includes 78 cards. 22 of them are the major arcana (mysteries). These arcana contain all the important stages and aspects of life and concern the situation of the soul and spirit as well as the higher relationships and events of existence.

The 56 cards constituting the minor arcana specify the interaction between the consultant and his or her environment. This relates to the spheres of sensation, thought, possession and action in correspondence with the four elements.
